Get the most suitable motor bike tyre for your motor bike

The motor bike tyres face the most extreme conditions than any other part of the motorcycle. This fact makes the requirement of the correct tyre for your motorcycle a necessity. In the recent times there are several manufacturers who have wide variety of options of motor bike tyres for the bikers to choose from.

Choosing the proper tyre requires an initial knowledge about the various types of tyres available in the market then analyzing the most suitable option that will serve your purpose in the most effective manner.

There is a misconception that most of the people has that the deeper-treaded tyres have a better grip on the road, but this fact is incorrect. The rubber surface of the tyre is the one that is exposed to the road and it is the friction which helps in the gripping the tyre surface to the road. In this way the vehicle is made controllable, even in high speed. However, it should not be considered that the treads in the tyres are completely useless. The treads in the tyre are made for the bike to travel through the mud, water or sand surfaces properly. In any imperfect surface like mud or sand, the cruds get stuck in the treats in the tyre. The absence of treads in the tyre would make the crud particles come in direct contact with the good surface. This could lead the vehicle to lose their direct contact with the road surface which will eventually result in the loss of control.

Keeping the tyres properly inflated can help in reducing the fuel costs by a considerable amount. Incorrect level of tyre pressure can lead to the wear-out of the tyre faster than its specified time. It also results in the greater use of petrol and therefore greater emissions. Therefore if you are planning to buy tyres for your motor bike be sure to keep the tyres of your motorbike inflated properly to the specified air pressure as it will not only ensure a longer life for the tyres but also act as an eco-friendly agent which will lead to the reduced emissions of the greenhouse gases.

If you have to ride over uneven surfaces like mud and sand, having tyres with low pressure serves a beneficial purpose because they have a better grip over the road surface. In fact, more heat is generated by the low-inflated tyres and this leads to the wearing out of the tyres unevenly. So, the low-pressured tyres should be used only in certain circumstances. High-pressured tyres run cooler and so they also last longer.

Broadly the motor bike tyres can be divided into two kinds- road tyres and off-road tyres. The road tyres are normally better polished and slicker whereas the off-road tyres have a rough surface which helps effectively in tackling the extreme conditions of uneven surfaces. There are also available tyres that combine the qualities of both the kinds of tyres.

Tyres can also be tubed or tubeless. The tubed tyres can be deflated to a greater extent than the tubeless tyres, while riding over rough surfaces. The tubed tyres are however not fit for high-speed riding as they generate more heat than the tubeless tyres. Tubeless tyres gain momentum at a faster pace and can easily be maintained at high speeds. Whereas the tubed tyres have greater longevity and extreme condition bearing power, the tubeless tyres can be repaired easily when punctured, as compared to the tubed tyres.
